Superbowl week

I know I'll take heat for this, but I'm sick of the superbowl already!!! Well - I'm just sick of Tom Brady's ankle. Let them play and win, then analyze the impact of his ankle AFTER it all...seriously!!

I'm REALLY REALLY REEEEALLY excited that Lost is starting again this week - FINALLY!!!! I hope it is not disappointing.

Thomas is doing excellent! During tummy time today he rolled over onto his back! So I put him on his tummy again, and once again he rolled over. Three times in a row and I gave up on tummy time. This is a great milestone! He is sleeping in his swing right now. He takes a big long nap after his 5am bottle, and then a pretty good nap after his mid morning bottle. The rest of the day its all cat naps and power naps - which is totally fine, since he's a good sleeper at night.

The biggest news in our house is whatever will we cook and serve for the superbowl???

Cooking

So - I mentioned in an earlier post that I set 10 goals for 2008. One of my goals is to cook more at home. I actually really like to cook - I've just never had the time or resources (never kept the pantry stocked well enough - I've learned that is a BIG part of being a successful chef!). I am a HUGE Rachel Fan - her 30 minute meals and her morning talk show. Last week I actually cooked dinner 4 times - 1 weight watcher recipe (Paulo really liked it too!), 2 Rachel Ray meals, and 1 of my own concoctions. That is a lot for me! Today I just made another one of Rachel Ray's meals - buffalo chicken pot pie. I cannot wait to eat!

Thomas has been sleeping a lot today. I hope its just a growth phase - that he isn't getting sick. I thought he was getting a cold last week so we didn't go to Mom's Together, and I hope we can go tomorrow. Mom's Together is my Thursday morning bible study at church. There are about 45 moms of all ages/stages of children. We have fellowship, study and prayer. Its a great group and I'm so glad to finally be a mommy and be a part of it.

Here's a completely unrelated, but totally adorable picture of Thomas from last week. I ordered about 6 weeks worth pf Thomas pictures this past weekend - $75! I told Paulo we're going to have to add a photo processing budget to our monthly bills!

Mommy guilt - now I get it

Thomas has been using his exersaucer for 5 days now. He LOVES it - he feels so independent. So I put him in it about 3 times a day for about 20 minutes each. Then I feel guilty because that's less time I'm holding and interacting directly with him. I know he needs to learn independence and he is enjoying, but I feel bad cause I'm enjoying the quick 20 minute intervals I can get stuff done!!!

Today was sunny so we went for a walk - just 30 minutes because it was cold. It was nice to get some fresh air and the sunlight. I am hearing more and more about the epidemic of vitamin D deficiency most of us in the North East have, and that its linked to so many health issues, so I try to get us out there when I can. Its supposed to get very cold early next week so we may be stuck indoors for a while.

And of course - GO PATS on Sunday!

New Year - new to blogging

I thought this would be a good way to keep in touch with people and keep people up to date with all the Brasil happenings - most importantly the progress and milestones of our little prince Thomas!

Our little man is just AWESOME! He is such a happy baby! He was 12 weeks Weds - will officially be 3 months this coming Thursday. He is holding his head completely now, and sitting up well (with support from us of course). He is also standing a lot, and today he is now pulling himself from a laying position all the way to standing - no sitting in between. I might be in trouble - he might be ready to walk soon. He loves his mobile - Wally the green monster - and is also enjoying the activity mat. I've started reading to him - he'll sit through a really short book. Its just so darn fun to watch his face light up with every little thing he sees!

I'm just now finally catching up with the new year. I got really sick new year's even night - either food poisoning or a really bad stomach bug. Either way, it took about a week to recover, and then this week I've been undecorating the house, taking down the tree, and cleaning up. So its the 12th already, and I'm just getting my new year started - better late than never.

I set 10 goals for 2008 - I prefer to call them goals rather than resolutions. Its nice to have something to strive for. I figure if I only achieve a little in each area, or really kick butt on 3 out of 10, then I can feel accomplished. I know, I know - weird.

Its Pats 3rd quarter and its very tense here - I should go watch the end.
