Re-entry into reality

We are back from our trip to VT, Eagle Camp and Storyland.  A whirlwind 10 days.  I'm up to my armpits in laundry, unpacking and uploading 450 pics! (yes really!)  I'll post pics and stories later this week - stay tuned

You need to read this

You need to read this because it is amazing....because this mom is the most gifted writer I've ever read....because you will be inspired to write your own story. (click on the link below - I can't get it to underline)

Just another Saturday night on the town

Last night we had the delightful pleasure of being the first dinner guests at my mom and dad's beach house here in town.  They bought their cottage last summer, did tons of work, took a break in Florida for the winter, came back this spring, and did loads more work.  As Thomas puts it "First time, Nana and Big T's house was really dirty.  Then they cleaned it all up.  Now Nana and Big T's house is REALLY FANCY!"

Mom made her newest specialty...Roulade - our favorite meal at the Student Prince restaurant where her dad was chef for 30 years.  For someone who says she has lost her ability to cook, her dad would be VERY proud.  It was delicious!

After dinner, Thomas turned our quiet dinner party into a dance party.  Check it out.  I had to drag him out at 10pm!!!
PS - Dad spent 2 nights in the hospital again this week with his 3rd case of celulitis in his left foot.  I'm not sure this is what the doctor had in mind when they released him with instructions to go home and keep his foot up!

Mixed emotions

It is with heavy hearts that Thomas, Paulo and I are bidding farwell to Uncle Buck and Alyssa - aka my brother and his girlfriend.  They left us all Boston today and heading west for a new life and new adventures in a new land city - Seattle.  That is the exciting part.  Well, part of the exciting part.  The rest of the excitement is the long road trip across country they are taking this summer before arriving at their destination.  I wish I could go with them - not just to see all the beauty of this great nation, but just to see them survive each other 24/7 for the next 2+ months - hee hee!!!

We wish them all the best and hope that Seattle appreciates its 2 newest residents!

If you'd like to join me in keeping up with their travels this summer, here is their blog: http://stodgers.blogspot.com/.
(much better written than mine but not nearly as fabulous photos)
